Snowy Scenery

You can never be too prepared.

Gazing at this image I can't help being reminded of Robert Frost's poem and one of my favourite poems of all time-Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening.
Its calm imagery creates a vivid mental picture. It reminds me of how I feel on a cold snowy evening watching the soft snow slowly fall...Oh, how I love the woods draped in snow! xx

Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening.
By Robert Frost.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think is queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I love Robert Frost's poetry.. and like all of his poems, this is great too. Thanks for reminding me that I need to search for few of the books I have misplaced...
PS: Thanks for empathizing with my aunt and Mom. Isn't it tough to be in their situation and keep their hands off me? LOL

Hi Betty, I just couldn't resist from dropping you a line on this poem! It too is one of my favourites, and I just love your picture to go with it!
It's looking like I have some serious competition here! I'll try a get a couple of posts in before Christmas! Hope you are all well, and ready (?) for the big day, but it does make you wonder why we all run around like women possessed at this time of year!
Take care, Big hugs!

I really love the way that poem sounds when I read it, sort of like the hoofs of the horse on the frozen ground.

Thanks for sharing. I hadn't read that poem in years.

I'm a huge Frost fan, too -- my favorite is "Birches."
