Home Inspiration

Traditional cushions and tapestry from Brussels, Belgium. So lovely!
Have you noticed...
Feathers are being used to lamp shades, curtain trimmings and cushions?
Cushions are becoming artworks in their own right, adorned with elaborate passementerie and rushing?
Carpets with borders are on the increase, especially on staircases?
Picture frames are becoming almost as important as the pictures within them, with sculpted gesso used to create modern, three-dimensional effects?
When it comes to decorating a house, I so love a sort of "marriage" of classic and contemporary design.

Hope you have a great week, my dears! xx

Have a Lovely Weekend! + Life is More About the Journey than the Destination

I'm taking a short break from blogging for a few days. I may not
be able to post or visit your blogs on a regular basis.
I need to finish off a research project, which I'm working on,
and need to put my maximum effort into it.
                                     I'll be back Tuesday.
In the mean time I'll be dropping in on your blogs every now
                                     and then.

Here's a brilliant wedding scene from the "Underground" movie
                                     by Emil Kusturitsa.

Have a wonderful weekend, my lovelies! xx

Wonderful Treasures

Where is the human nature so weak as in the bookstore?

Magical books, powerful tales of living and dying, of destiny and
choice, of love lost and found. Sometimes humorous, sometimes
serious, sometimes profound. Books of magical realism and
                                    spirituality. Inspiring books!
And this little Prince is so charming! I fell in love with him.
                                    Here's some book recommendations:
-The Winner is Alone, by Paulo Coehlo. (And the goal is love).

-Emotional Intelligence, by Daniel Goleman Ph.D Harvard University,
                                      psyclologist-journalist. ( EQ>IQ).

-Women Who Love Too Much, by Robin Norwood.
(Are the women who love themselves).

I Have Been Tagged!

I 've been tagged by my friend Steven, an awesome
blogger, his blogs are absolutely mesmerizing,
over at: My Life My Thoughts,
                                           http://steven-litchford.blogspot.com/
and ChristieJo, a lovely lady with a lovely  blog,
over at: Tales From My Head,
                                           http://christiejolu.blogspot.com/
Thanks guys. You must visit them if you have not already.

So, they want to know where I will be in ten years or
would like to be and tag ten people.

Well, last night I dreamed that I was an inhabitant of another
planet in our solar system and I can give a "testimony" of
how marvelous that planet B was.
                                            On that planet:
-There are no atomic experiments in the ocean,
-There are no cyclones - Phenomenon of "El Nino",
-There is no hunger and poverty,
                                            -The vegetation has no thorns,
-The fruit trees are even grown in pots in the terraces of houses,
-There are never any accidents on the streets because everything
                                              is in order,
                                            -There's total equality,
                                            -Nobody owns anything,
-The law is based on mutual respect towards others, life, and
                                             everything,
                                            - The war is against evil and not one another,
                                            - People and animals are happy.

Apparently, I' d like to be on that planet B in ten years!
Okay, I know. This is not a realistic answer, but I just wanted
to make a "complaint" about the quality of life on our earth.

                                              Now, my realistic answer is:
Where I 'd like to be in ten years is where my heart belongs,
no matter the country or place.
Now, these ten awesome friends are tagged!

                                              1.Trac, Welcome To Our World
                                              2.Traci, 38 and Growing
                                              3.Richard, The Bewildered Brit
                                              4.Lisa,  Smell the Coffee Lisa
5.Pat,   A View From the Edge
                                              6.Lorenza, Pure Energy
                                              7.MelissaB, The Scholastic Scribe
                                              8. Turquoise Diaries
                                              9.Corrie,
Just Because My Pickle Talks Doesn't Make Me An Idiot
                                            10. A Duck in her Pond

                                             Tag y'all are it.
Remember tell your ten your plan and tag ten more.

Have a Creative Weekend

What are your plans for this weekend, my dears?
I'm battling a cold, so I'm making lots of organic ginger and honey
green tea. So, I'm going to spend this weekend at home.

Well, the other day, in my wandering through Vodka Logic's blog
I came across an inspiring poem called "Happiness is a
                                      Room Inside My Head".
I liked it so much I emailed her for her permission to reproduce it
here. Lovely lady that she is, she said yes!
So, a big "Thank you" to Vodka Logic, and here's her poem:

Happiness is a Room Inside My Head.

Hope is often hard to find,
In the corridors of the mind.
The halls that lead to the different rooms,
Are dark and dusty and sadness looms.

Walk in the dark and look for the door,
Keep your heart hopeful as you search for more.
Look for the room where happiness lives,
Try all the keys until the lock gives.

Never give up if the key isn't found.
Search inside yourself and look around.
Open the window and raise the shades,
Keep searching the rooms until sadness fades.

The room is there, always was,
Happiness returns, at least you hope it does.
It maybe short lived, even fleeting,
So grab with both hands  and give it a greeting.

Remember, with happiness you make it yourself,
                                      don't rely on anyone else.
Find it where you can and treasure it,
And make copies of the key, and share it.

                                      Have a wonderful weekend! xx

Beach Photos-Inspiration

I couldn't figure out why I felt weirdly sad last night for no reason. So today I'm going to post some lovely things; a few of beach photos.
Do you like collecting pebbles? I have collected pebbles all my life.
I was standing at the shoreline with the sea's spray in my face. I was almost drenched by a wave if I was 2-3 feet to the shore.
And as the poet says..."my soul follows like a green dolphin and plays with white and azure..."
I absolutely and utterly love the ocean and beaches.
There's something about them that just speaks to my soul. I also enjoy taking shots of them.
Oh, how I miss the sunshine-y days!
And as John Masefield said:
"...I must go down to the seas again....
And all I ask is a tall ship...
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, and a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying and the flung spray and the blown spume
and the sea-gulls crying..." xx

Have a Blissful Weekend!

It's March! Spring is on its way, I hope with February out and March in! Let the countdown to Spring begin!
I feel that Spring is almost ready to burst out suddenly. You can
hear the tiny leaves rustling inside their buds. Another two or three almost weeks I reckon and suddenly it will be new life
everywhere, again.
And this is such a breathtakingly cute puppy!  Don't you think?
I'm inspired by this photo. A little inspiration each day not only
brings a smile, but open us to unlimited possibilities...

So, here's to Spring! I'm sending positive vibes to you.

Have an inspiring, sweet weekend, my darlings! xx

Ba-Donka-Donk

While sitting in my dingy little office exploring the Internet there's nothing nicer than a cup of coffee and  a salmon sandwich to keep me going.
I'd love to share with you a brilliant game of American slang vs
English slang. I do really love Hugh Laurie, he is so fantastic and talented.

Ellen D. and Hugh Laurie at their best.
Enjoy! xx

Miniature Horse

                                                                                     Going for a walk.
This little pony is ready to make friends with anyone her size.
Sam Leith, 12, leads the way followed by Bliss and her tiny new
daughter. Born at a stud farm in the Southern state of Victoria,
Australia, the 15 in. miniature horse is yet to be named, but
already formed a bond with Sam.

She is so gorgeous! Don't you think? Silver dun tovero in colour
the little horse, currently only a little taller than a book is expected
                                    to grow about 24 inches.
It's amazing to see a horse so tiny!
