Vacation Photos + How Did You Spend Your Summer?

I'd love to share with you a few of my vacation photos, if you'd like to see.
I've had a wonderful summer vacation...no TV, no computer, no plans, of course I equipped myself with several books and my camera as always.
A vacation getaway is always great fun!

It was almost noon when we finally arrived at my good friend Anne's beach house on the beautiful island of Mykonos, Greece,
and we decided to jump in the pool and chill out.
The view from the house was really gorgeous. I got some time to relax in the shadow with my book and a yummy, fresh orange juice, which I enjoyed quite a lot.
The weather was fairly nice; it was not too hot during the daytime and could actually get a little chilly at night.
ABOVE A gigantic cruiser getting ready to leave port.
There are golden sandy beaches on Mykonos island. Here are a few beautiful beaches with turquoise crystal waters and soul-warming sun where we went swimming:  Paraga Beach, Psarou Beach, Elia Beach, Platys Gialos, and Ag. Sostis Beach.
We also visited Katrine's, a cozy little  restaurant with its sophisticated setting and cuisine which we enjoyed quite a lot. Needless to say the food was absolutely delicious and glowed with the strong, warm flavours of Mediterranean!

Overall, we really enjoyed the beautiful sandy beach and the tranquil blues and greens of the crystal clear water; we all have had such a wonderful time. It was actually a ton of fun.

The bottom line is this: I finally managed to get some time to rest and relax with family and friends. The best part is, the joy I felt in the tiny bits and pieces of life because I truly took time to stop and smell the roses.
So that's pretty much how we spent  our summer vacation.

Thanks, Ann, for making this a very pleasant vacation for all of us.

How was your summer? How did you spend it? Did you go on vacation? I'd love to hear. xx

beautiful beach and the water looks wonderful. the ship looks as big as a mountain. great photos and looks like a wonderul place to vacation.
we live in FL 10 miles from the beaches and we are both retired, so our vacation time is the same year round

What a dreamy spot.. the colour of the water is just incredible.

Your picture show a simple, light-hearted place and time. The ship is a sea monster, seeminly friendly but much too big to come so close. I took most of June and visited family and friends in Northern and Southern Claifornia with a little sight-seeing.

The beach and water looks so refreshing and amazing! We haven't had a vacation in several years and even the last one was the first in a very long time and was more of a business trip, than relaxing time. It's too hot to be outside, here.

It looks and sounds as if you had a perfect vacation. Relaxing with a good book and a glass of cold orange juice sounds like heaven to me.

Betsy and I took a trip out west which we really enjoyed. We've been posting pictures off and on since we got back.

Wow that is an exotic place for a vacation.
Our summer is coming and we are off to Western Australia. In our winter we went to USA summer for a tour, which I have made many posts about.

A wonderful way to spend one's summer. Your photos were lovely! I seem to remember a Hayley Mills movie set in Mykonos. I remember seeing those unusual windmills that I thought so beautiful. It still looks very beautiful and I still want to go there. Thanks for this great tour.

It seems you had wonderful vacation!I had gone in Mykonos some years before for a few days.I remember that the water of the sea was cold enough but clean. This year I went for vacation near my hometown in Gytheio for 9 days. For a further destination, money wasn't enough but we found there some nice beaches.I like bath in the sea-I stay there for 3 hours.Generally,I relaxed for 1 month and I wasn't thinking about my duties.Lets hope the next summer be also nice.

Hi Betty! Such gorgeous photos!! You are so lucky you had a wonderful vacation. My summer was awful to be honest, we had such a heatwave, & the humidity level was so high. Finally the weather is cooling down before fall gets here. I don't have money to go on vacation as of now, plus the last years I am suffering from breathing problems, so I can't fully enjoy any summer. Hopefully next year will be an improvement!

Betty, I loved your vacation photos... so colorful and so alive! And this is true because you enjoyed your vacation that much, and those moments were that beautiful for you.

I'm so glad to know you had a wonderful time. Summer escapes are just an addiction for me. What would life be without them?

I hope you have a lovely week, and I can't wait to see more from your time away!!!

Big hugs,
Nevine

Betty - thank you so much for this. Apart from my short break to Wales in June, my summer was filled with chaos at work and it wasn't as much fun as would be expected.

So thank you - I was able to look at your photos (each twice) and imagine that I had joined you n your holiday!

Everything published was actually very logical.
But, what about this? suppose you added a little content?

I am not suggesting your content isn't solid, however suppose you added something to maybe grab people's attention?
I mean "Vacation Photos + How did You Spend Your Summer?" is
a little plain. You should glance at Yahoo's front page and watch how they write article headlines to grab viewers interested. You might add a video or a pic or two to get readers excited about everything've written.
Just my opinion, it would make your website a
little livelier.
