Good morning! I hope you all have had a very happy holiday and are having a great start to the new year.
But the post Christmas period can sometimes leave many of us feeling a little blue.
I'll be honest with you. I used to get those after Christmas blues-not anymore!
When you think about all the joy that Christmas brings; all the preparations of the last several weeks: gift buying, get-togethers, twinkling Christmas lights-when it's all over, you may be experiencing a sort of "let-down" feeling, which is completely normal.
Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over-as reality returns...going back to a mundane routine, miserable weather, packing up the car to get back to our homes for work are enough to lower our spirits and make us feel melancholy.
But hey! It's a new year! Seize it!
I am excited about 2013 and the challenges and chances it brings. I love New Years. I always look at them like a new book.
We will open the new book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity.
And what about New Year's Resolutions? I gave them up long ago, because New Year's Resolutions are for the most part destined for failure consistently, in my humble opinion.
That said, just some goals to aspire to in this sparkling brand new year including more photo-ish things this year. And of course, blogging!
My dears, do you get the post Christmas blues?
A kiss for all of you! xx

the photo is gorgeous and should cheer up anyone feeling the blues.
It's fun to think of new possibilities in the new year. :) I love your photo!
Ah the blahs! Much nicer thus shared, Pal. Thanks
Aloha
Love that photo - it's beautiful!
I do feel a bit of sadness when the holidays are over, but I've always loved new journals, new calendars and all the "freshness" that comes with a new year.
Hoping you aren't blue today, Betty!
Original y divertida imágen.
Un abrazo.
i have been blue. i do not like it. bless you, betty.
Yes - blue for a number of reasons, but life is good anyway.
Opportunity is a GREAT word.... We do need to seize it during this new year --and begin with an empty slate... I am pleased that I held my weight without gaining --all during the holidays. That is a huge achievement for me....
I do feel a little 'blue' when putting away Christmas... It's such a joyful season. BUT--life goes on...
Have a great day --and I hope you have lots of blessings during 2013.
Hugs,
Betsy
I, particularly, I have no sadness at the end of the year.
I like to move and feel alive. It is another moment of surprises and uncertainties.
Hugs.
Love the photo. We all will cast our seeds and discover which ones take root in 2013. Happy New Year Betty!
I am starting my year with a new project - an art journal. I finished preparing all the pages now I need to ACT!
Opportunity is the perfect word! A brand new year lovely and fresh for us to enjoy! Have a good one, Betty, and good luck with all your new creative endeavours!
Happy new year darling......i am in the holliday mood......next week i must work again....love from me...xxx...
It is hard right after Christmas when all the pretty decorations go down and all the family leaves. Family leaving is what makes me the saddest. It takes me a few days to get back on track, but soon enough I get excited about the new year and plan what I'm going to do with my blank slate!
Blues, the blues, give it up, like you already done with new year resolutions. Good sign.
A fresh start is always a good thing.
Happy New Year, dearest Betty.

Hugs to you, my dear friend Betty!!!!!!!!!!
Well, my new year promises to be busy with a move to Portland and the delight of being close to at least two of my kids and lots of old friends!! The first few days of the year do seem kind of blue and depressing, but that's passed now and it's time to move on and I am -- literally!! Great post for the day, Betty! Hope you have a great new year and start with a wonderful weekend!! Hugs!!

Yes. Spend about an hour on a bench, just watching. In the end, felt better.
Please have a good weekend ahead.
Happy Friday doll! I love the picture. No, I don't get blue after the holidays either - I am thankful that it's over though, which is something that I've never been before. Hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend my bbff! xoxoxo
Whistle away the blues.
How intensely you feel the post-Xmas blues probably depends on how much effort you put into Xmas!!! But with so many things to look forward to, using your great photo to blow the blues away should be easy!
Happy New Year!!
A beautiful image Betty dear, I love your enthusiasm. No, not feeling blue, looking forward to a good year.
xoxoxo ♡
I look at the new year as an new opportunity and fresh slate too. I don't make resolutions either! lol
Sane advise thanks
. Wish you a great year without blues but with opportunities and their accomplishments enriching your life.
Have a great year.
Excellent! I tend to get depressed around Christmas and happier in January, for the reasons you're saying - new book.
Great shot!
Happy New Year!

Happy new year for you and your family!
What a sweet picture, I love the blue sparkles. Holidays are fun and I also enjoy the mundane routines afterwards. Happy New Year! :)
you're right it's a depressing time of the year Betty - the pic's a good cheerer up, though
Then I shall paint the days with red.
I'll decorate my house with red lanterns in Chinese New Year a few weeks later.
I wish happy years
I usually breathe a sigh of relief when the holidays are over. I really do enjoy the holidays, but they sure can get hectic.
Me too, I feel sad saying goodbye to my nieces and nephews after holidays off.
Happy 2012. All the best for you this new year.
Olá Betty;Excelente fotografia....

You have a good philosophy. Keep happy.
Only me Petty Witter but with a different name. I don't know how or why but my blog has changed to google+, my blog profile has disappeared and I'm unable to sign in as Petty Witter which is causing some confusion. Anyone else having similar issues?
Anyway, A happy and healthy 2013 to you and yours Betty. To be honest with Christmas seeming to start earlier and earlier every year it is now something of a relief when it is all over and I can welcome in the new.
I do sometimes get those blues, but I'm okay. I LOVE this picture. I mean I really REALLY LOVE it.
If someone gets the post holiday blues, I recommend LOTS OF HUGS. :-)
Well... it makes ME feel better, anyway. ;-)
I totally understand! I pretty much hated the whole Christmas season for most of my life. These days I might a few moments of the blues about it, but for the most part, I love it...
Happy New Year my friend. I'll be back soon to catch up here.

I actually feel better after Christmas. Things are so much calmer. And Bitty is feeling better, thanks!
Bright and breezy and set to go =2013.
Photo is fabulous, Betty! I don't get the blues because I celebrate the holidays and seize the New Year just as you suggest! Have a great one!
I can so relate to the blues...love that photo though, and your positive attitude about the new year!
Lovely photo. And I don't make new year's resolutions either. Just goals I hope to achieve and one is better photos!
Es como un sueño, o mejor dicho como un buen propósito los mismo deseo de bondad para un año que recién comienza. Feliz 2013
Bella foto
Un abrazo
Beautiful post and I can so relate to those blues.
Thanks for sharing.
kisses.
...hello Betty, parties are now in the drawer of memories. The new year has just begun and I have learned not to make more long-term projects. Better to live day by day. Then here, you can breathe a beautiful outlook. Hopefully soon to form a government of honest men. An embrace with so much poetry ....
Dear Betty, I simply adore your photo. It's beautiful! And no... I don't get the post Christmas blues. Actually, this is a brand new year, filled with new hopes, new dreams, and new opportunities. So, rather than feel blue, I feel sunny and bright! I'm happy to know you feel optimistic about the new year, too! :-)
Have a lovely weekend, Betty!
Big hugs,
Nevine
I love that pic.. blues and all. :) No post-season blues here. I'm just usually glad when it's all behind me for another years. Happy New Year to you, dear Betty!
