Feeling Blue?

Think you're the only one feeling blue? You've got company.

Good morning! I hope you all have had a very happy holiday and are having a great start to the new year.
But the post Christmas period can sometimes leave many of us feeling a little blue.

I'll be honest with you. I used to get those after Christmas blues-not anymore!
When you think about all the joy that Christmas brings; all the preparations of the last several weeks: gift buying, get-togethers, twinkling Christmas lights-when it's all over, you may be experiencing a sort of "let-down" feeling, which is completely normal.
Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over-as reality returns...going back to a mundane routine, miserable weather, packing up the car to get back to our homes for work are enough to lower our spirits and make us feel melancholy.

But hey! It's a new year! Seize it!
I am excited about 2013 and the challenges and chances it brings. I love New Years. I always look at them like a new book.
We will open the new book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity.

And what about New Year's Resolutions? I gave them up long ago, because New Year's Resolutions are for the most part destined for failure consistently, in my humble opinion.
That said, just some goals to aspire to in this sparkling brand new year including more photo-ish things this year. And of course, blogging!

My dears, do you get the post Christmas blues?

A kiss for all of you! xx

Love that photo - it's beautiful!

I do feel a bit of sadness when the holidays are over, but I've always loved new journals, new calendars and all the "freshness" that comes with a new year.

Hoping you aren't blue today, Betty!

Yes - blue for a number of reasons, but life is good anyway.

Opportunity is a GREAT word.... We do need to seize it during this new year --and begin with an empty slate... I am pleased that I held my weight without gaining --all during the holidays. That is a huge achievement for me....

I do feel a little 'blue' when putting away Christmas... It's such a joyful season. BUT--life goes on...

Have a great day --and I hope you have lots of blessings during 2013.
Hugs,
Betsy

I, particularly, I have no sadness at the end of the year.
I like to move and feel alive. It is another moment of surprises and uncertainties.
Hugs.

Love the photo. We all will cast our seeds and discover which ones take root in 2013. Happy New Year Betty!
I am starting my year with a new project - an art journal. I finished preparing all the pages now I need to ACT!

It is hard right after Christmas when all the pretty decorations go down and all the family leaves. Family leaving is what makes me the saddest. It takes me a few days to get back on track, but soon enough I get excited about the new year and plan what I'm going to do with my blank slate!

Blues, the blues, give it up, like you already done with new year resolutions. Good sign.

Well, my new year promises to be busy with a move to Portland and the delight of being close to at least two of my kids and lots of old friends!! The first few days of the year do seem kind of blue and depressing, but that's passed now and it's time to move on and I am -- literally!! Great post for the day, Betty! Hope you have a great new year and start with a wonderful weekend!! Hugs!!

How intensely you feel the post-Xmas blues probably depends on how much effort you put into Xmas!!! But with so many things to look forward to, using your great photo to blow the blues away should be easy!

Happy New Year!!

Only me Petty Witter but with a different name. I don't know how or why but my blog has changed to google+, my blog profile has disappeared and I'm unable to sign in as Petty Witter which is causing some confusion. Anyone else having similar issues?

Anyway, A happy and healthy 2013 to you and yours Betty. To be honest with Christmas seeming to start earlier and earlier every year it is now something of a relief when it is all over and I can welcome in the new.

...hello Betty, parties are now in the drawer of memories. The new year has just begun and I have learned not to make more long-term projects. Better to live day by day. Then here, you can breathe a beautiful outlook. Hopefully soon to form a government of honest men. An embrace with so much poetry ....
