My Next Life

Woody Allen, the well-known movie director is one of the most respect living American directors.
He's an actor, comedian, screenwriter, zazz  musician, author, and playwright.
My Next Life, by Woody Allen, is a very interesting and hilarious story. It keeps making me laugh, so I figured I'd share it with you. xx

In my next life I want to live backwards. You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day.

You get kicked out being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get
a gold watch and a party on your first day.

You work for forty years until you 're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school.

You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play.
You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born.

And then you spend your last nine months floating in luxurious spa like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters everyday and then,
Voila! You finish off as an orgasm!
I rest my case.

That has got to be the sassiest quote in the world. Maybe that is what the person had in mind who wrote Benjamin Button. I have to put that down in my quote collection.

  4. Interesting guy, this Woody Allen, isn't he? I like the realistic dryness of how he generalizes life in just those words. Thank you for sharing that, Betty! Have a beautiful weekend!!!

Some of his movies: Another Woman,
inspired by Bergman's Wild Srtawberries, Radio Days, Bananas,
The Curse of The Jade, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Hollywood Ending.
    They are good ones.

  48. LOL that's so funny. In my next life I'd like to some kind of animal. Like a house cat, where I have no worries and can just sleep and purr it away. LOl

  50. Well, you know....he does make a good point!!!

  51. Yes, It would be nice if we could live life backwards. Strange to think though that you would go to grade school at the end of life. I suppose at that point the old age home would be where we would go to school and preschool would just be for play.

I've enjoyed your musings. You commented before me in roll call from SITS this morning. I'll be back to visit you again.

  52. That is the best plan i've heard for life in a long while! I'm on board! LOL Woody Allen is responsible for one of my favourite all time quotes: "Don't knock masturbation - it's sex with someone i love." :p

  53. hi Betty, Im almost fine by now, im over the sadness of my kitten and getting back on track. I was busy with assignments and reports of this semester which is about to end by the 28th of November.

thanks for asking and your comments actually lifted my spirits. love to u too...

I wish we could go back and stay young each coming day how b'ful will that be.. but i think one day this would be possible to go backwards.. to undo the mistakes and faults, to re live the memories of the past, to retry to answer the left questions.. who knows God might give us a 2nd chance to change the world.. who knows that one day Eve will realize and not to choose the glistening fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and bad and who knows then we will experience a second life without Sin and death and pain... i wish all that becomes true one day.. we will be so close to mother earth and to GOD ...

  58. Like George Carlin said, you age backwards and life is perfect -- eventually you are a baby, everyone takes care of you -- then blip! You're gone! This was a Fitzgerald story before B Button...and another book is The Confessions of Max Tivoli.....

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous1:05 PM

Oh my...didn't see that end coming!

    My best, Lynn

    ReplyDelete
  60. George Carlin had a similar routine -- you get tiny, people take care of you, then poof! You're gone! If you're gonna end up drooling and diapers anyway, you may as well do it tiny and adorable.....
