Beach Photos Inspiration

girl walking on the beach
I couldn't figure out why I felt weirdly sad last night for no reason. So today I'm going to post some lovely things; a few beach photos I've taken recently.

I was standing at the shoreline with the sea's spray in my face. I was almost drenched by a wave if I was 2-3 feet to the shore.
And as the poet says..."my soul follows like a green dolphin and plays with white and azure..."
I absolutely and utterly love the ocean and beaches.
There's something about them that just speaks to my soul. I also enjoy taking shots of them.
Oh, how I miss the sunshine-y days!
And as John Masefield said:
"...I must go down to the seas again....
And all I ask is a tall ship...
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, and a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying and the flung spray and the blown spume
and the sea-gulls crying..." xx

(Poem: Sea -Fever by John  Masterfield, 1878-1967)

  4. These are so pretty Betty! They make me want to get back to the beach NOW! I was in Mexico in January... I might just have to go back in April to reward myself for quitting smoking... :i

I love pebbles too. I have never collected them though because I can never decide which ones to keep, so my pockets just get way too heavy. :o)

  6. Oh you're going to make me cry! I grew up on the beach of Florida and miss them dreadfully sometimes. A few weeks at a time is just not enough. It's where my soul resides. But not where I can get a job :(

  82. Beautiful Photos!

I do like collecting pebbles from the beach too. But I always feel so strangely/guilty for taking away a "piece" of the beach nature. So inevitably I usually end up throwing them back, aside from a few special ones! Imagine if everyone in the world took a few stones with them from the beach .. we may not see as many.

    Love your blog!

    Happy SITS Day!

  88. Did you feel any better after posting these? I hate when I'm sad for no apparent reason (lol, and my husband really hates it!) Still, looking through all these pretty photos would just make me MORE sad, because I would want to go on vacation!
Sigh. No vacations coming up any time in the near future. No sandy, sunny beaches and flip flops.
Now I'm feeling a little down!
