Wholesome Awesome: Devon, England Photos

Drakes Island from Torpoint, Cornwall.

This is a photograph of autumnal warmth, with the setting sun casting a pink glow, and the beautiful colours heating up the lovely Drakes Island early in the afternoon.
Drakes Island from Torpoint, Cornwall.

I'm back home after a pleasant, issue-free journey to Devon, England visiting friends and relatives and I am excited to catch up with all your blogs and comments.
I really love to travel and continue to use my travels as inspiration.
Travel is more than just going to a place; it's an inner journey as well. Journeys tell a lot about who we are and what we can be. In essence, every journey is a journey into a rediscovery of our identity. Don't you...
think?
Drakes Island from Torpoint, Cornwall.

Exploring the gorgeous Devon countryside was really an amazing experience. My good friend and I had such a great time on our day trips; just grabbing our cameras, tripods, wellies and jumping in the car was really pure fun; actually we had a blast!
I'd love to share a bit of my journey with you through pictures, if you'd like to see.
Take a trip with me, won't you? To some place beautiful and inviting...
Mount Edgcumbe at Torpoint, Cornwall.

Bovisand Beach, Devon, UK. A beautiful beach of yellow sand with cliffs either side, just outside of Plymouth.
Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England. I absolutely love the beauty of English countryside.
Low River Dart at Spitchwick; a  beautiful little valley of the river Dart on the edge of Dartmoor.

Beautiful cottages.

Devon has beautiful meadows and rolling hills with friendly sheep.
Plymouth Barbican, south Devon, UK. Glorious and jolly.
Plymouth Barbican, south Devon, UK.
Totnes, is a fabulous historic town with a Norman castle, and beautiful buildings dating from medieval times.
We absolutely enjoyed strolling through the past.

There were a few of cobblestone and brick lanes and roads that I couldn't stop photographing.
We often ended up having lunch in several cozy restaurants and pubs...
Pork pie. Yummy!
"Devon Cream Tea" (Tea taken with a combination of scones, clotted cream and jam), swoon! We had lots and lots of delicious Cornish Pasty (a must!).

Ah, Devon will always remain fondly in my heart. (sigh!) xx

  2. Your photos are just downright gorgeous, Betty! And yes, I do believe that when we travel we are uncovering a new aspect of our identity. I don't take travel lightly at all! In fact, your shots are proof of that, if I may say so. They are imbued with the joyful spirit you had while you traveled about, and because they are so, they fill me with joy as well!

So lovely to see you back online, dearest, and thank you so much for sharing these gems!!!

    Big hugs,
