Trying to capture the cold, grey (gray) wintry mood, the loneliness of the landscape, the dead feeling of winter,
These are a few of my favourite photos. Why? Because looking closely at these, they do look a lot like they were taken with a film camera (my favourite cameras of all time). I really love that bluey hue in some of them. But they have been taken on a digital camera.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay warm! xx
P.S. I love this inspirational Japanese proverb..."One kind word can warm three winter months."
Sharing with WW@Kent Weakley .
I wish you also a beautiful weekend and a warm house!!;)

You're so funny. While I will acknowledge some bittersweet feelings evoked by winter, I still find a profound beauty in it. ...as evidenced by your wonderful pics.

ReplyDeleteYou have certainly captured the bleakness of winter well.
ReplyDeleteI really like the way you've captured wintry gray. I especially like the black and white photos. The picture of the clouds (your third) is beautiful.

These are beautiful Betty!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the black and white.
Sending you wishes for a wonderful weekend!
What gorgeous photos! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Betty. :)
ReplyDeleteSome of these are very "painterly" or like a daguerrotype (sp.). Very cool. I like the torn clouds picture toward the top, and the town on the hill.
ReplyDeleteLove the last most. One thing I hadn't realised until an Aussie friend spent some winters in Canada, is the silence which accompanies the snow. There are always sound of nature in our corner of the world, no deadness or silence.
ReplyDeleteLindas fotos :)
ReplyDeleteyou've captured the winter feeling beautifully!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!
I especially LOVE the second one and the last one!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely captured the cold and gray part of winter!
Betty, the paintbrush technique has definitely produced lovely results, as I see from your pictures. All the pictures have an almost surreal effect that makes me want to partake of the scene with my naked eyes.
ReplyDeleteHave a relaxed and energetic weekend, dear Betty.
Joy always,
Susan
Beautiful: and you DO HAVE SNOW! I do not have snow...just cold...and cold...but no snow at all..
ReplyDeleteHug you!
BS
Nice and "cold" photographies those that you us expose today.

ReplyDeleteSome of your images are like paintings of a winter landscape..
ReplyDeletePlease have a lovely weekend!!
Hugs from Athens!!!!!
Strange, but I don't think of winter as being dead. It's simply resting. :))
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I like your photos.
Beautiful images, Betty. I especially like the first three. And I agree with that proverb... and that word is "summer." ;)
ReplyDeleteThe one thing that has stood out more than anything over the past 18 months, has been your determination to get your life back to normal

Oh, I LOVE these! All the more so for them being so alien to the landscapes I see downunder. And the proverb is perfect - I just hope I can remember it!!
