Here's to a Bright Autumn! + Have a Great Weekend

All those beautiful leaves earn a fiery glow before falling...
Weed leaves hold a bright baby blue hue...
So it's going to be a colourful two months! Woo Hoo! The first day of Fall is...
officially on September 23, 2011.
Fall used to be my least favourite season, but I've since changed my mind. I love walking in the woods on a crisp, autumn day listening to the falling leaves. Nature's peace flows into me...oh, it really feels good!
So what are you up to this weekend? I'm cooking some really simple foods this weekend. Dried Apricot Mousse with mascarpone cheese, and Home-Dried Tomatoes . Once tried, you'll become hooked on their sweet, fresh flavour and soft, chewy texture.
(Recipes will be posted next Tuesday, if you'd like to see.)

I adore cooking simple foods with a clean combination of flavours. Now that the bounty of summer fruits and vegetables is over, it is a good time to think about recipes which include dried ingredients from the pantry. Figs, tomatoes, apricots, wild mushrooms...these are some of the temptations in the dishes which I'll be cooking this weekend.

Hope you have a wonderful one! xx

  1. no plans for the week end, since we have week end 7 days a week. i love that second photo. i like leaves, love them, but i really love prickly things and sticks and limbs that look or are dead. and my perfect weather that i would order for year round if i could, is wake up at dry 65 degrees with high of 72 to 78 and a breeze to stand the curtains out. i don't like extreme cold or heat.

  12. You have a very good eye! Saturday is my sermon writing day. I tell people my days off are Friday and Sunday. I do preach and lead worship on Sunday, but other people play the organ (or guitars) or teach Sunday School on Sunday. Fall is beautiful but kind of sad at the same time.

  18. I used to dislike fall too, mostly because it was a sign that winter was coming, and I really hate winter. But I've warmed up to fall - it's great running weather and I enjoy the leaves and foods of fall. Plus, I no longer have a job where I'm forced to drive in the snow, so that really helps too!

  46. Most important thing is to write letters to get a new job. There is a great chance I will loose my job. But in a country with crisis it's not easy to find another job. I am 54 for and the companies are only looking for people of 16 years old with university and 20 years expercience if you understand what I mean. Never mind there are more terrible things in live. Thanks to god my husband has still his job and the children are old enough that they don't cost an amount of money anymore. The fact is I love to go to work. Being a part of the comunity.
I will read your recipy at tuesday.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
