Last September I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful
Mount Edgcumbe Gardens in Cornwall, just outside of
Torpoint. You could not fail to notice the beautiful hydrangea-it was everywhere!
Plymouth Barbican, south Devon, UK. Plymouth Barbican is magical at dusk, when the sun has set behind the horizon and the little harbour picks up the texture of the pink sky.
Best recovering drink. Sometimes you just have to drink your milk!
Hello raisin bran muffins!
Do you find weekends hard to stay on track with your healthy habits? I certainly do. Really. But I have decided to just improve my nutrition intake and feel my energy levels soar again.
Smooth sweet potato with a deep orange flesh that adds a spectacular, stupendous colour at any table.
I just want to start eating healthier food!
What about you? xx

Hello Betty,

ReplyDeleteHello! Very beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteI love sweet potatoes! We eat them 4-5 nights a week!
ReplyDeleteI know how this goes!
ReplyDeleteFor me summertime is the worst for eating helathy because I am a big ice cream fan, and will sometimes substitute that for dinner. OKAY, more than sometimes!!
love the milk in the jar, a beautiful photo and great idea for a glass. love sweet potatoes to. mother had hydrangea buses all across the back of her house in Savannah, higher than my head, daddy put iron shavings under hem and they were bright blue the more iron the bluer they got. i loved to pick one and bring it inside.
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely images. We have the same glassware as you are using for your milk. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have a habit of eating healthy during the weeks and then letting us be sinful at weekends - that makes it feel more OK. :-)
ReplyDeleteDear Betty,
ReplyDeletewunderful 5 things, I want to begin eating healthy-fresh foods too!!! Your photos are really appetizing! ☺

few surgeries, I just not buy those stuff anymore!!
Lovely pictures!!
I don't drink milk, but it is nice to look at this image :)
Hugs,
Monika
I'm trying to do that myself. I love the food at the vegetarian grocery near my house - they have a hot food bar. Wish I could just eat that, but it's pricey.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place.
ReplyDeleteFantástic the other pictures!
Greetings.
I think you should be a food photographer!
ReplyDeleteDo sweet potato fries count as healthy food? snort!
Very nice photos!
ReplyDeleteI do have trouble staying on track during the weekends. The main problem is that EVERY day is a weekend day for me...
Having said that, you'd think I have a lot of free time. I have just about zero...
Un placer pasarme por aquí como siempre a ver estupendas fotos, un saludo...
ReplyDeleteI love muffins!!;)
ReplyDeleteEnergy? What the heck is that? I think I had it when I was young, but it's been a long time.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely and I love that bottle your milk is in.
ReplyDeleteI am trying (very hard) to eat healthily and get fit. And you are right the weekends are the worst.
I could always do with some more energy. I see my daughters and could do with just a little bit of their energy. :))
Everything looks so delicious...even the delicate petals of the pastel hydrangea. Great post.
ReplyDeleteIt was a busy holiday weekend for us, so I'm very far behind in paying visits to all who have left me comments in the last three days. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to leave such a positive comment for me. Hope your week will treat you kindly!!!
Hi Betty! I had a great Memorial Day weekend. I usually eat healthier than I did this weekend, but I confess that I splurged a bit. On the positive side, I played with my kids in a swimming pool, so I got some good exercise. I have not lost any close family or friends, so it was easy for me to appreciate others' ultimate sacrifice without feeling the personal sting of their loss.
ReplyDeleteI am verry fortunate, I don't have a weight problem. It's the heart I should pay attention to.
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
Great post, great photographs!
ReplyDeleteI'm so into healthy eating, but have never tried sweet potatoes before.
Those look so delicious!
Brilliant photos, and sweet potatos, um that's the best. I with yours, be good to yourself.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, love that sunset...
ReplyDeleteit looks like something taken a century ago (if they'd had color film).
The more healthful eating...
it's ongoing.
Had my first kohlrabi this weekend.
What wonderful photos! I really love the hydrangea...one of my very favorite flowers.
ReplyDeleteI want sphegetti, but I can't deal with the heavy sauce--I'm craving fresh, light tomatoes...
ReplyDeleteBellas Imágenes y grandes delicias culinarias.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo, Betty.
Your photos are as delightful as they are delicious!

ReplyDeleteNice pictures full of delicateness with those tones so soft and exquisite lighting, good shots. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteI feel that way after being away for 5 weeks and eating anything including gourmet meals and hamburgers. Great shots especially the sweet potato yum yum.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty, lovely images. The first shot of the hydrangea is beautiful. It is a good idea to eat healthy for a kick start your energy level. I need to do that too. The sweet potatoes are one of my favorites. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteLoved the food photos! It is a lot harder to eat healthy when you have a guest who insists on wanting to eat out regardless of the healthy food you have prepared! Oh well, it isn't forever!
ReplyDeleteI really like your photo of the sweet potato. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has trouble eating the way I should on weekends.
ReplyDeleteHi Betty, It is important to eat healthy and to exercise... I am trying to to a better job with both... Eating healthy definitely does give us more energy...

ReplyDeleteI love the variety of photos you've chosen for this post, my dearest! What stunning colors!!! And as for healthy, fresh foods, I can't imagine eating anything else. I'm not into greasy, fast food. Blech! I love to cook at home and prepare meals from scratch. Not only is it healthy for your body... it's therapy for the mind! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a wonderful week, my dear!
Love and hugs,
Nevine
I was in Cornwall last summer and loved it. Many thanks for those photos and for reminding me of the great time I had there.

Great shot of the hydrangea - nice soft focus. As for milk - more of the chocolate variety (I know, one of my few vices). Go for it with the healthy-fresh - doing yourself a favour !
