The Balconies of the Sears Tower in Chicago.
A friend of mine sent me this interesting email the other day.
I really love these photos and thought I'd share them with you.
They are absolutely amazing!
They are absolutely amazing!
The owners of the Sears Tower, the tallest skyscraper in the U.S.
(Chicago) inaugurated a couple of years ago four glass box
viewing platforms.
These balconies are suspended 1,353 feet (412 metres) in the air
on the 103rd floor.
They are 10ft high and 10ft wide and can hold 5 tons with their
1.5 inch thick glasses.
1.5 inch thick glasses.
Really impressive and definitely something to try...don't you
think? xx

Not for me. Just looking at the pictures made me dizzy.
I seriously don't think I could go out on that thing. I would freak out!
Wow. That is really cool. I think it might give me a fear of heights though...or just a fear of the glass box disappearing and me falling!
Amazing photographs Betty. I have been on the top floor of that tower in Chicago a few years back, but they did not have those glass boxes at the time.
It would be interesting to be there again.
have a great evening.

I don't think I could step onto the balcony. I'd be afraid it would fall. It was enough to look out the windows and see the sights! Chicago - my "home" town!
Hello, back from a long break and catching up with all my favourite blogs. I must be honest and say I actually felt quite sick looking at these photos, they are amazing, but I would never have the courage to be in their position...WOW x
Amazing for certain. I am unsure of whether I'd do it, but probably would. I mean, let's face it. They don't want the bad publicity of someone dying, so it has to be pretty safe, right? And? Totally could see an ax murderer coming.
That is awesome! But you would never get me to do it!
I would find it terrifying, but I'd still have to try it out if I was there.
It would be a serious case of head or heart, wouldn't it? However, much I tried to reason it was safe I don't think I'd feel safe!
not for me! I'm dizzy now!!!:)
Very tall building actually! If I was there,I would felt panic.
Oh my gosh! Those pics are amazing!
Thanks for the follow! I'm following you back.

I would sooo do that...making sure I have my camera. I'm surprised they let them out there with their shoes on...I know they built something like that by the Grand Canyon and they make you were little booties so you don't scratch the plexiglass...
I assume the view from one of those boxes is absolutely stunning, but I'm not sure I'm ready to give it a try.
Wow...But I guess I wouldn't go! I do have vertigo but thats amazing!
Oh wow... That looks so cool but I think I'd be super suffering the vertigo!!
Ok. Betty!
Let's try..to step on those :)))
I have seen these pictures too!
ΟΥΤΕ ΓΙΑ ΠΛΑΚΑ ΟΜΩς!!!!!
Oh my riding that thing would totally get my adrenaline pumping. Amazing pics!
Nooooway, lol.
Great pics tho.
Yippee I'm back in the land of Blggers, my friend.
Nice, it is one of the few buildings of the tallest ranked buildest in the world we have not been on. The pitty is that we have visited Chicago already.
I've actually been there, it is truly amazing. Great photos:)
Those photos are awesome and amazing! And so is Sears Tower!!! My husband is from Chicago and we've been up to the very top, but those new elevator-type boxes weren't there, yet. So, it looks like next visit we'll have something new... and very exciting... to look forward to.
Something to truly bend the mind at all kinds of angles, Betty. A nice and refreshing diversion after a long day at work. Thank you, dearest!
Big hugs,
Nevine
OMG Betty I'm getting dizzy just looking at these pics, not for me I'm afraid lol.
There's NO way I could do that! Makes my knees weak just to look at the pics!

Wonderful to look at - in pictures...I'm seriously scared of heights - so this is not for me...but truly amazing.
Those are awesome photos. I have been in outside glass elevators and they were fun, this would be amazing.
That scares me just to look at it!
No! I certainly do not think it's a thing to try! I'm not afraid of many things, but I would NEVER go out there. Looking at the photos even make me a bit dizzy...
I agree with the "Heck no, these photos are enough for me" team. Thanks Betty. You gave our team an excuse. We've seen the view already. xo
That is So Awesome! Wish they'd had it when I lived near Chicago. Wonder if they got the idea from the Skywalk over Grand Canyon.
Sure glad I stopped by via Desert Colors.
I do have a fear of heights, so I had to scroll through these photos quickly!! No way could I step out onto something like that!!
I don't have vertigo. I 'd love to come there.
Thanks for your wonderful comments.

AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!! That is my worst nightmare come true! But ... I've got a strange compulsion to try it!! What a shame I'm in Australia though - will have to leave it for another day!!
Happy travels!!
Amazing pictures! The children seem to be fearless...I'm afraid I would be too chicken to try. :)
One of those with vertigo, I'm not looking. Husband dearest says they are impressive photos though.

Amazing..I would always like to try bungy jumping but scared to death to do it. This one looks a much safer way to feel the space..
Oh wow. Awesome. I want to try this. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm returning the follow.
Those pictures are incredible. I have a friend who tried it on her recent business trip to Chicago. I don't think I'd be as brave though. Just looking at those pictures really got my blood pumping.

Oh Wow! That would definitely freak me out. Very cool though. Hope you're doing well Betty :)
That is serously mad but I guess kids have no fear. Nice post, Betty
I don't like to stand on top of a ladder, but I walk along the edge of the cliffs of the Palouse Canyon often enough. I would like to visit those boxes and stand in one and maybe even recline.
AMAZING ! I really would like to try that !!
You know I have lived in Chicago most of my life and have still never been to the top of the Sears Tower. That looks really awesome though, makes it more tempting. Maybe someday.
WOW!! I would like to try it.
Inreally enjoyed these photographs.
