Swan of Grace + Have a Happy Weekend!

While in Leamington Spa, England a couple of weeks ago, I went for a walk in Jephson Gardens and came across someone feeding ducks and swans bread. Needless to say the swans fought a little over it, but they seemed to enjoy it.

"Hello, I'm a Scotsman!", said the man... "I enjoy feeding swans.

There were loads of waterfowl to see and they looked quite hungry.

I've heard that feeding ducks bread is bad, but one of my earliest memories as a kid was feeding the ducks at our local pond, and that helped formed my love for wildlife.

I find the above excerpt from Paulo Coelho's book, The Alchemist, to be incredibly inspiring. Most definitely something I needed to read today. Thought I'd share it with you. xx

Have a Cheerful Fall Weekend!

Exercising or a brisk 20-minute walk can keep our dogs healthy.
After all, they deserve to get fit and cheerful all day long. Oh well,  it's good for both of us, anyway!

Gee, It's kind of Spooky!

When I was in Plymouth, UK almost a month ago, I went on a walk around town. This particular day I set out later than usual.
As I turned around to come back home dusk began falling and the dark settled in more quickly than I expected. The familiar shapes of houses, and the street lighting along the road became transformed by shadow into objects I've never seen before. I thought to myself, I may have strayed into the bad end of town...oh, that's really, really, really scary. But luckily the house where I  stayed was too close to a busy road so the best thing to do was to hasten home.

Everything looks so different in the dusk. The scenery becomes more profound, charming and enchanting.
Everything took on a spooky aspect against the setting sun and dimming light.
It was purely magical.
Yes, I did have a scary experience, but I was lucky enough to take some good (to my mind) photos. That walk at dusk certainly paid off! xx

What is Your Favourite Season?

Views of St. James's (with 's!) Park- the oldest of the Royal Parks of London near Buckingham Palace.

I was particularly drawn to the beautiful fall colours which were brilliant and wonderful when I was there in person, so I thought I'd definitely photograph them.
I love autumn. I love the colours, the smell, the cool and crisp days of fall. I'm always in awe of trees painted brightly.
But Nature has a spectacular show to offer us in each season...

Nah, I love all the seasons. Even winter!

Ahoy, Matey! means hello in the Pirate language...funny, isn't it? 

Like many people I was fascinated by pirates as a child. I think the idea of pirates has actually been  romanticized nowadays.
