Time Is a Monster

I stayed up late last night thinking about the future; mostly about time. I got so caught up with my thoughts that I could not sleep.
What does the future hold in store for all humanity? What will my future life be like?

Time is a monster. Time devours us all. It devours everything, our precious relationships, the stuff we have, our possessions. Most importantly, time devours our years away.

Oh well, it's very easy to get swept up in our thoughts...

Hope you have a great weekend! xx

We Are Only Humans

Last night when I was lying in bed with my eyes closed trying to sleep, this question came to mind.
What would I like to improve about myself?
Well, it's not really one thing. I have many things that I'd like to improve about myself actually.

Neale  Donald Walsch once said: "Only when you stop letting fears hold you back, will you start to make those major breakthroughs in life". That phrase hit home. And I suddenly realized that getting out of my comfort zone is the answer!

I've finally figured it out. I'll be honest. I am afraid of failing, at least some of the time. And that fear of failure stops me doing the things that can move me forward to achieve my goals.
In fact, I really need to overcome my fear of failure. So how do I step past the fear? I think I need to use some mental tricks for stepping outside of my comfort zone:
Switching up my routine, trying something new and moving toward the fear.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

What Is True Happiness?

While our culture is obsessed with happiness, studies show that chasing happiness can actually make us unhappy. I strongly believe that having a purpose in life is perhaps the main source of happiness and self-fulfillment.

Of course, everyone looks at life from a different perspective, different people and cultures believe different things. In my point of view, is just giving meaning to your life by challenging yourself and growing as a person, making or appreciating art, helping people in need of any help, protecting or advocating for others, embracing activities that connect you with something greater...
Maybe for you, it's something else.

It might sound a bit cliche', but a life without a purpose is a life without destination - no life at all.
Have you ever felt lost because you couldn't define your life purpose? I have. But I was determined to discover my life's purpose and meaning. So I took the time to understand what I am here to do. It wasn't until I was 27 that I clearly defined what I wanted for my life; since then I pursue that with great enthusiasm and excitement. Finding meaning in life really matters. The key is to figure out what matters most to you and enjoy it.

Ask yourself what am I passionate about? What is my life purpose? Ask yourself what you love and start taking steps to do what you love. By doing what you enjoy, you will be connected with what brings you the most joy.

There is a Chinese saying that goes: "If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody."

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

Be Someone's Hero for the Day

A utility worker giving mouth-to-mouth to a co-worker after he contacted a high voltage wire, in 1967.

This emotional photo reminds me of  the Dalai Lama's inspirational quote: "Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Being a volunteer myself, my heart can't help but be touched by people living in poverty.
Treat all people with love and compassion; even though the people have different skin colours, they are all still human beings.
There are a lot of people who will donate money but those who donate themselves are the real savours.

*Take just a few minutes, and do a kindness for another person.

*Put a smile on someone's face.

* Help a fellow human being today.

*Be someone's hero for the day; it will make the world a better place, one little step at a time.

Remember, every tiny bit of love for the society helps raise the quality of life for everyone!

Hope you have a lovely weekend. xx
