Trying to capture the cold, grey (gray) wintry mood, the loneliness of the landscape, the dead feeling of winter,
These are a few of my favourite photos. Why? Because looking closely at these, they do look a lot like they were taken with a film camera (my favourite cameras of all time). I really love that bluey hue in some of them. But they have been taken on a digital camera.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay warm! xx
P.S. I love this inspirational Japanese proverb..."One kind word can warm three winter months."

Yes, I can tell. They're kinda spooky!

Πανέμορφες εικόνες!!
Στην Ελλάδα έχουμε χειμώνα στον καιρό αλλά και βαρύ χειμώνα στα υπόλοιπα!!
Πολλά φιλιά.
Lovely! Happy and warm weekend:)

Brilliant pictures of your holiday.
So magical, trees are one of my favourite themes and you have captured them in all their glory.
Hoping you also have a good weekend my friend. Its my birthday tomorrow but alas I am not too well so will be celebrating another time. x
You're so funny. While I will acknowledge some bittersweet feelings evoked by winter, I still find a profound beauty in it. ...as evidenced by your wonderful pics.
Like your pictures darling.....enjoy a happy weekend....lots of love Ria...xxx...
You have certainly captured the bleakness of winter well.
I really like the way you've captured wintry gray. I especially like the black and white photos. The picture of the clouds (your third) is beautiful.
Have a great weekend.
Wonderful winter photos! You really captures the feel of winter. And I love the Japanese proverb...so true.
tracy, so sorry to learn you've been unwell...hope you get better really soon!
big hugs!
Those are gorgeous...I so wish I could be around some snow right now!
I do love your wintry skies! And what superb captures! Love the Japanese proverb! So true! Hope you have a great weekend, Betty!

Great photos, as always!
You definitely captured the wintry mood in these photos. My favorite is that last one. Fabulous! Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Much apprecited. Have a great weekend.
the rain pictures are wonderful ! and yes, one might wish for an all calming blanket of snow to appear, probably a dream.
please have a kind weekend.

These are beautiful Betty!
I especially love the black and white.
Sending you wishes for a wonderful weekend!
What gorgeous photos! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Betty. :)
Some of these are very "painterly" or like a daguerrotype (sp.). Very cool. I like the torn clouds picture toward the top, and the town on the hill.
Love the last most. One thing I hadn't realised until an Aussie friend spent some winters in Canada, is the silence which accompanies the snow. There are always sound of nature in our corner of the world, no deadness or silence.
Lindas fotos :)
you've captured the winter feeling beautifully!
have a great weekend!
I especially LOVE the second one and the last one!!!
You have definitely captured the cold and gray part of winter!
Betty, the paintbrush technique has definitely produced lovely results, as I see from your pictures. All the pictures have an almost surreal effect that makes me want to partake of the scene with my naked eyes.
Have a relaxed and energetic weekend, dear Betty.
Joy always,
Susan
Beautiful: and you DO HAVE SNOW! I do not have snow...just cold...and cold...but no snow at all..
Hug you!
BS
Nice and "cold" photographies those that you us expose today.
I have liked very much the Japanese proverb...I fill of reason.
An embrace and happy weekend.

These are beautiful and really capture the winter. What a lovely time to go on a road trip. Thanks also so much for stopping by my blog!
Some of your images are like paintings of a winter landscape..
Please have a lovely weekend!!
Hugs from Athens!!!!!
Strange, but I don't think of winter as being dead. It's simply resting. :))
Having said that, I like your photos.
Beautiful images, Betty. I especially like the first three. And I agree with that proverb... and that word is "summer." ;)
The one thing that has stood out more than anything over the past 18 months, has been your determination to get your life back to normal

Great.
These are great, intriguing photos. Stay warm and know you are loved.

Oh, I LOVE these! All the more so for them being so alien to the landscapes I see downunder. And the proverb is perfect - I just hope I can remember it!!
The last photo is breathtaking, Betty! :)
Wow! All of the photos are beautiful but especially the one with the streaked cloud shot! Just lovely.
:-)

You definitely captured the "feeling" of grayness and cold. But, there's a mention of beauty in the "cold world" of your photos.
Wonderful job with the photos--as usual. :)

Betty, lovely wintry scenes. And I love the quote, it is very fitting for wintertime. I hope you enjoyed your roadtrip, and have a great week ahead.
You have done a fine job...painting your photos!
Bien captado el color grisaceo y frio de esta estación y bien transmitida en tus imágenes esa atmosfera invernal.
Saludos.
Good photographs, collecting a lull in a beautiful snowfall.
In these shots you can breathe, calm and tranquility.
Greetings. -
Gorgeous photos! And I agree with that proverb. :)
Gorgeous winter scenes.. Polaroid effect looks lovely. You conveyed the mood of winter so beautifully.
Wow, these are incredible photos and i totally get this: "I love these shots for too many reasons to fully explain." Don't worry - you do not need words to explain how stunning these photos are!
