3 Simple Decorating Ideas

I've always believed in homes that are a perfect reflection of the people who live inside. For me, that means a space that is free of clutter, and reflects my personal interests and aesthetics. And I've always believed that some small changes can make such a big difference in any home. Here are three ways to decorate with things you already have.

1. Repurpose a footstool into a side table, perfect for pulling up alongside a sofa.

2. Group pictures correctly. I hate to see pictures evenly spaced around the room. It's better to have only six (or seven) of them, hung in a straight line or a block, and nothing elsewhere.

3. To achieve a calm and peaceful space that allows you to recharge, a very good rule is to use only three colours. Adding even a speck of another colour will destroy the look. It's the discipline that creates the feeling of peacefulness and space.

Last but not least, don't feel overwhelmed! Take a moment to reflect on what you would like your home to look like.

I've always believed that a few small changes can cheer up a space and give a home a new look.
Here are 3 simple ways to spruce up any room in your home:

1. Indoor Garden.

Consider to create a lovely all-year-round green space with loads of plants. Use repetition as a design trick. Repeated use of the same colour in pots and foliage can bring unity to any arrangement. So cozy.

2. Wall Art.

Swapping different photos into your picture frames can make your rooms look new to you every time you walk through them.

3. Switching the Sofa.

Little changes can make a difference. Switching the sofa to a new spot would make our space a lot better. The results just might be dramatic.This is a foolproof way to make your home feel like a totally different place.

Life Lately

Browsing through old photos. I totally love looking at old photos...brings back so many great memories. Reliving delightful memories will always bring a smile to my face. And I am a sucker for that nostalgic feeling, but sometimes it's too much and I need to stop!
Life has been going pretty good lately. Well, my life may not be perfect, but I am thankful for everything I have; I am blessed. I don't have everything that I want, but I do have all I need. I live a very positive lifestyle and encourage others to do so! After all, I've found it easier to look at things positively. Over the years, I have come to realize that "It pays to be positive".

Lighting plays an aesthetic as well functional role for me. I like the forms of table lamps that are simplified, reflecting a welcoming
and comforting feel- a perfect mood of a drawing room or bedroom.   

I love an eclectic mix of items for decorating my house.                                          

When the lighting effect is successful and the lights are switched on your worries are melt away, then a magic occurs...

Cushions are becoming artworks in their own right, adorned with elaborate passementerie and rushing?

Carpets with borders are on the increase, especially on staircases?

Picture frames are becoming almost as important as the pictures within them, with sculpted gesso used to create modern, three-dimensional effects?

When it comes to decorating a house, I so love a sort of "marriage" of classic and contemporary design.

A Christmas tree in the bedroom? Why not!

Simple and cozy coffee table.

Well I find it to be a quite innovative idea! One Christmas tree in the living room. 

Another one in the bedroom for adding some sweetness and warmth to our festive nights!

The effect is of restrained sumptuousness...a sense of playfulness.

                           

I think it doesn't look a lot like Christmas in my home, and the Christmas decoration has not been completed yet I'm afraid. (Photo below). Any suggestions? xx

Loosely draped curtains (you can use a simple white fabric).
