Have a Blissful Summer Weekend!

Golden wild grasses in the summer sunlight.
I love this beautiful, peaceful view!
The summer heat is definitely upon us and quite frankly, I'm not really particularly eager to go out and..."play" in the sun.
 A beautiful red Geranium.

It looks like summer
I woke up to a glorious, bright, summer day. With the summer
season in its peak and the summer heat melting everything outside it is no surprise that I like to snuggle in the comfort of the cool breeze of the air conditioner.
Hopefully I'll take a few days summer vacation in August,
but I'm now looking for good movies to watch in the meantime.
I love classic films, Sci-Fi, drama, and biography genre and any movie that is uncommon.

Any movie suggestions? What would you recommend that could make my keep at home worthwhile?
I'd love to hear. Thanks so much. :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, my lovelies. xx

One of my favorite movies is "MOMENTOS" if I tell you anything about it, the whole thing is a waste.
Then there are my two classic favorites, "Of Mice and Men" both the ones with Burgess Meredith & Lon Chaney Jr, and the one with Gary Sinse & John Malkovitch.

Sorry to say, it's still not safe at my place. But I wanted to say hi.

A good film could be Coco Chanel's life. I really loved it.
Awesome photos!

Your pictures are so lovely. We have lots of good photographers in blogland, you are definitely one of them.
Hmm...movies...I love science fiction, so I am gonna recommend anything with an outer space theme.
Have a great weekend!

Those are lovely photos, Betty.
Sorry I have no movies to suggest. I'm not a movie person, but I hope you find some high quality films to enjoy this weekend.

Your pictures are gorgeous!

I've watched a lot of good movies lately, but two of my favorites were Salton Sea and Happy Accidents. Salton Sea is a gritty drama and Happy Accidents is a romance with a bit of sci-fi thrown in.

Whatever you watch, have a wonderful weekend!

I might venture out of the air-conditioning to enjoy the beach for a short time. Your pictures are beautiful. I really like your golden grasses.
I haven't seen a movie in ages. I'll look forward to hearing about the good suggestions you get.

These photos are simply gorgeous. And a reminder that I need to take advantage of this summer to do something magical and fun, other than sit in a library filling out job apps. Lol.

I hope you're having an awesome summer! xo

Oh, I hear you. I am not a fan of the current heat. You sure have some beautiful views wherever this is though. I always look forward to the fall. That's when I catch "spring fever" in the desert. I'm off to San Francisco for a few days. That should cool me down a bit.

We just watched "Shutter Island". That was a good flick. Thanks for stopping by and leaving the nice comments.

Some of my old-time favorites:

To Kill a Mockingbird (it's the 50th anniversary this year)

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter

The Day the Earth Stood Still (Sci-Fi) (the original one - NOT the remake)

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Sci-Fi)

Have a great weekend!

I would suggest The Great Gatsby.

Have a good weekend.

I agree on all your movie choices. Ok here's what I like:

*Old movies*
Barefoot in the Park (LOVE IT)
Grapes of Wrath (very old)
The Graduate (watching this weekend)
The Birds

*Older*
The Client
Sleeping with the Enemy
Lost in Space
The hand that rocks the cradle

*Newer*
IRobot (Will Smith - sci fi)

My other favs are comedies and or romance with drama. If you want that list, let me know.

That should keep you buys. ;)

Thank you for a surprise visit to steveroni, Betty. I truly feel special now...

Your photo opportunities are so well chosen, then framed with the eye of an artist--you.

My favorites are those horizontal parallel lines of the sky, water flow, and the concrete banister, just a scene, but beautifully arranged by You and god!

Other favorite is the seabird and pair of shoes. "Hmmmmm, shall i see what's in those shoes?" the bird is saying, evaluating his risks.

Thank you again for your visit, let's do this again, betty! OK?

Your pix are gorgeous, Betty! But when are your pix ever not gorgeous? You bring life to moments captured... always.

As for movie suggestions, here are some of my faves: Perfume, Amelie, Immortal Beloved, Henry and June, Lolita, And Now Ladies and Gentlemen.

Have a lovely weekend, Betty. Cool hugs and kisses on this warm and blazing weekend! ;-) And stay inside!!!

Hugs,
Nevine

Lovely summer images. I would love to have a lake or beach like that nearby. We had a short break from the heat today but it will return soon.

Air conditioning and any Sci-Fi or foreign film would make me happy when the temps rise.

I don't have really any movie to suggest but I love your pics!!
Beautiful!

Stunning photos as always! I really envy you living in a place like that as it is so beautiful and I love the sea. As much as i love beaches and water though, I doubt I could ever live in one as I love the city too much. Perhaps I need to move to Sydney!

Thank you so much for this little trip to the sea then - I especially love that photo with the summer hat and the water with the sea in the background.

Have you ever seen Enchanted April?

athina said...

As I have seen, the cinemas play most old movies in the summer.I think that in a magazine I read that this week in the cinemas is played the movie of 1960 "Bonnie and Claid" and "singing in the rain".They may be black and white but they have social meanings.
Enjoy summertime!
