Summertime is upon us, and with the ongoing pandemic I've been figuring out how to connect with friends while trying to stay safe. In fact, I'm craving for interactions with close friends.

So I compiled a list of social-distancing get-together ideas and things to do this summer season.

Social-Distancing Get-Together Ideas

. Spend time at a park.

.Take a family picnic.

. Go for a long hike.

. Organize social-distancing hikes with friends.

. Go for a nature walk.

. Trips to the beach (bringing a large blanket to make staying apart easier).

. Take a Staycation.

That way you've got your social distance and socialize safely!

When the world feels like too much, stop and breath. Relax your mind. Listen to the sound of the ocean, enjoy the light breeze...
I know it will be a different kind of summer this year, but there are still ways to get plenty of fun in the sun. I secretly love summer.

For those of you who are new readers Five Things Tuesday was started a couple of years ago as way to sit down and reflect on what the past days have been like for me.

Pretty glass jars.

Tasting Melon and Prosciutto Salad. This is the simplest summer salad. Amazingly light and tasty.

Melon and Prosciutto Salad Recipe.

Ingredients

1/2 honeydew melon, halved, seeded, peeled and cut into thin wedges
6 thin slices prosciutto
A small handful of arugula
Honey Vinaigrette
Freshly ground black pepper
A chunk of Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Cover the arugula with the sliced melon, about 3-4 slices.
Top with 3-4 slices of prosciutto.
Add 1-2 grinds of freshly ground black pepper and drizzle with 1-2 tablespoons of vinaigrette.
Use a vegetable peeler to shave thin pieces of Parmesan over the top (optional).

Honey Vinaigrette

Ingredients

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil.
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar.
1 teaspoon honey.

Directions

To make the Vinaigrette, you simply combine all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor. And process until smooth.

Note: Tweak this Vinaigrette recipe to your liking, by adjusting the amount of each ingredient.

Just A Quick Note

Hello! Happy Friday y'all! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I'm still on vacation (read: staycation) trying to soak up as much relaxation as possible, but I wanted to drop in and say hi. Thank you for taking the time to read, follow, etc. my blog here. It really means a lot to me.

I am enjoying my break here, just finished my first cup of coffee and am editing tons of old photos on my computer. Just thought I'd give you some eye candy and return to my break; thanks for looking!

Sometimes, You Just Need a Vacation

Sorry I've been away from my blog for about a week now and while I do miss blogging the vacation was needed. My goal for this vacation was to get away from it all, relax and recharge.
In fact, this time I've decided to do a staycation instead of traveling somewhere for a vacation.
Let's face it, the experience of travel is awesome but when you're in debt is not a good idea.
Stay-at-home-vacation is a great option if you're looking to relax, save money, avoid travel.

I love staycations and playing tourist! It's always fun to explore your home area.
