Summer Sunset + Have a Beautiful Weekend

A little bit of orange this morning...

It was a great sunset that deserved a better location to capture it from. But without that location nearby, I was not about to let a great sky get away. Have I ever mentioned how much I like summer sunsets? By now I'm sure I don't have to mention it. ;)
Sunset is easily my favourite time of the day. Even if I don't have a camera in my hands...

Simple Little Pleasures + Have a Fun Weekend!

Sometimes you just want to sit and watch the sunrise.
Watching seagulls flying against the wind.

It seems like my whole life has become about the little things and I am...

Back Again

{Waiting for the ship to come in...}

Hello there! I know it's been awfully quiet around here, and I do feel a little badly about that.
I just wanted to let everyone out there know that yes, I am still alive.

P.S. Look forward to catching up with you this Friday. I've missed y'all so much! xx

Just a Quick Note

Freedom!

Hello there all my friends! Just dropped in to say hi. I know I've been missing in action for a while...where have I been? So here's my news (in case you were wondering).
I thought that since I'm having a vacation, I would blog about how very nice it is to stay home and pretend you're on vacation. Yep. No stress on the budget, no stress on traveling to or from, so I'm having a lovely staycation this year. For me, staycation is all about staying up late, sleeping in, visits to family, taking naps, reading, a good movie, dinner with friends, going to the beach, the park for numerous picnics and getting chores done that I don't have time to do otherwise. I even managed to update my G+ little spot . (It has been so sadly neglected!)
Staycation is a good way of getting rest and reducing stress as well. Sufficient rest and relaxation are extremely important to our overall health and well-being. (I still need to remind myself of their value. Not because I don't essentially know it, but because it can sometimes seem like a million other things need to get done first.)

To be honest, I only took a long weekend trip to the seaside but nothing beyond that really.

Anyway, I'll be back soon. Have fun and do have a wonderful weekend!

Did I mention I'm on "vacation"? xx

Five Likes Tuesday: Things I've Learned in Life

An orange velvet sunset glistens upon the mountains...

Things to ponder over first cup of coffee of the day. Here are some of the things I have learned in life. Or perhaps it would be better to say, things that I am learning...
Some are quotes I have collected from others, some are personal thoughts I have had myself. Nonetheless, I'd love to share them with you today in the hopes they will also help you.

I've learned that...
When a door closes, another one opens, but often we stand there so long looking at the closed door, that we do not see that one that's open.

I've learned that...
The really lucky people do not necessarily have the best of everything. They are the ones who make the most of whatever life throws at them.
I've learned that...
I should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time I see them.
I've learned that...
The most splendid future will always depend upon the necessity to release the past. You cannot move forward in life unless you learn from your past mistakes and move on.

I've learned to appreciate good people like You. You people have made an impact on me in some way or another.
You made me smile when I really needed it. You have inspired me in so many (different) ways.

I hope this post may brighten up someone's life for a day! xx

My Aunts + Have a Wonderful Weekend!

What are your plans for the weekend? My beloved aunts are visiting this weekend and it's so nice to have them around. Sadly, I only see them three or four times a year because of the disrtance, but these visits are an essential part of our lives. My aunts and I usually do at least two sleepovers while they are here. The way it usually goes is that we play games, and talk until very late at night which I love it! My aunts also like to talk about Christmases and we all love to recall in great detail certain stories told over and over again, enjoyable ribaldry!

So I'll be away from the computer for the next four days, but I'll try to pop in and read your blogs when I can.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with joy and delights!

Have a great one, my lovelies! xx

How Do You Feel When Watching the Sunset? + Have a Romantic Weekend!

Day cruise. Cancun, Mexico.

Cancun, Mexico Sunset. Marvelling (marveling) at the wonder of the sunset in all its degradation. Softly the evening came...

Is there anything more beautiful than an Orange sunset?
"Yes, a beautiful Orange sunrise" more than likely you said. To be frank, I have never been able to photograph a sunrise so far. The hardest part of Sunrise Photography is waking up early in the morning.
I think I am too lazy to set up early in the morning for shooting sunrises.

I love to watch the sunset, and this time of year they can be quite spectacular.
I think so many of us imagine watching the sunset with their beloved ones or someone special. I'm always in too much awe of the lovely colours and totally absorbed by the beauty and calmness of the sunset to notice I am alone.

How do you feel when watching the sunset? Romantic, relaxed, lonely, like something is missing? I'd love to hear. :)

My lovelies, hope you have a wonderful summer weekend! xx

P.S. Tip for photographing sunrises: The early morning light is soft and diffused so you need a longer shutter speed to let in more light.

Tip for photographing sunsets: Adjust your White Balance. If you want to bring out the colour through, try switching to one of the presets that adds warmth such as Shade or Cloudy.
