Have a Lovely Weekend!
With summer fast approaching, I thought I'd share an absolutely gorgeous aerial picture of Adria Beach Resort in Adria, Italy. This photo reminded me of leisure and fun times...sitting on the beach and listening to the ocean; this is the moment that I can breath and relax.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

Five Things Tuesday
Hi there! Hope you are all well. A big Hello to all the new readers out there - thanks for stopping by.
For those of you who are new readers Five Things Tuesday was started a couple of years ago as way to sit down and reflect on what the past days have been like for me.
Happy Tuesday! xx

Five Things Tuesday
Hello! Here's are some photos for you to enjoy.
I hope you're having a wonderful week. Happy Tuesday! xx
Spring sunset.
Trying to convey what I'm feeling in my images.
Lately, I've been drawn to photos that have painterly qualities. ABOVE This image shows "a walk in the rain". The texture in this image reminds me somewhat of an "impressionist" painting.
Five Likes Tuesday
I've been daydreaming a lot lately about taking a trip to New York, New York. It has been ages since I've last been to the Big Apple. (If only my bank account allowed it...)
While I was digging through my archives today I found this photo of the picturesque Totnes town. Totnes is a charming little town full of quaint shops and good restaurants. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon...
Devouring a bowl of warm, creamy and velvety-smooth pumpkin soup; I just made this today and it tastes delicious! I've always loved the beautiful deep orange hue it adds to the dish. Oh, I love anything pumpkin! Don't you? Since it is officially October, which in my book means pumpkin soup (almost) everyday, I am going to make it again!...her mouth is watering already!;)
Good ol' fries.
Sometimes, I can't resist French fries. British people call fries "chips". Is there anyone out there that doesn't like fries?
What are your five favourite things this week? xx
Beaches: Bantham Beach, Devon + Perspective
Bantham Beach, one of Devon's best known beaches, UK. {Photos taken in November 2010.}
It has been nearly seven months since my last trip to Devon, but these photographs keep making me feel happy.
I'm excited to share these images with you and take you all on a journey within my photos.
Bantham Beach is a beautiful sandy beach on the south coast of Devon, UK, ideal for water-sports, especially surfing.
I love to watch people surfing.
I'd love to take a stroll down the Bantham beach. I've been feeling the travel bug pretty strongly as of late.
Composition And Perspective
A brilliant photographer and wise person once told me.
"Use your creativity to:
"Use your creativity to:
*"build" your image,
*figure out what perspective would be best,
*make your photographs tell a story."
Actually, I've seen pictures with stunning color combination and perfect exposure - taken with big, fancy, expensive cameras, but they look quite ordinary. Because in my opinion they lack two major things:
Composition and perspective.
If you're into photography you may have heard of "The Rule of Thirds". It is one of the basic techniques and refers to the way a composition is constructed. (Of course, there are many Photography Composition Rules - but rules are meant to be broken, right?
The Rule of Thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds- both horizontally and vertically. Ideally your picture will fall in or near one of those intersections. (Highlighted in red.) The human eye tends to be more interested in images that are divided into three parts, vertically and horizontally, with the subject falling at or along one of those divisions.
What makes a great photograph? What are the elements that make a picture great?
What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, my lovelies! xx

Update: A great tutorial on composition by Steve McCurry. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Sunny Days
I just want to soak up the sun as much as possible and enjoy the chilly sea breeze running through my hair.
Summer will be just around the corner once more. Again!
I thought I'd post something to truly bend the mind at all kinds of angles. A good and refreshing diversion after a hectic week at work.
I really need to step away from the computer and find some inspiration today.
What are you up to this weekend, dear friends?
Hope you have a wonderful one, my darlings! xx
Summer Fling
Oh, summer days beside the joyous sea.
Don't you just love it? I know I do.
For me, summer brings more than just a good tan.
I often take time over the summer to read lists of books I may not
ordinarily seek out.
Don't you love to sit in the shade and read away in the summer?
Don't you love to sit in the shade and read away in the summer?
The summer heat seems to melt away inhibitions.
We allow ourselves to wander and enjoy simple things like
summer movies, nature walks, hanging out with friends, going to
the beach, having picnics.
Beautiful beaches, soft, white sandy landscapes kissed by
turquoise crystal waters...
The beach has so been on my brain lately; as soon as the weather
balances I'm off for a visit. xx

Beach Photos Inspiration
I was standing at the shoreline with the sea's spray in my face. I was almost drenched by a wave if I was 2-3 feet to the shore.
And as the poet says..."my soul follows like a green dolphin and plays with white and azure..."
I absolutely and utterly love the ocean and beaches.
There's something about them that just speaks to my soul. I also enjoy taking shots of them.
Oh, how I miss the sunshine-y days!
And as John Masefield said:
"...I must go down to the seas again....
And all I ask is a tall ship...
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, and a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying and the flung spray and the blown spume
and the sea-gulls crying..." xx
